Casco Histórico of Puerto Cabello and Posada Santa Margarita

Casco Historico of Puerto Cabello:
This beautiful place is located in Carabobo state, in the central cost of Venezuela. It has one of the most economical and historical important ports of the entire country. It was established in the middle of XVI century, because of its strategic location that allowed the landfall of the fleets of the Spanish army. The port became an important point for the commerce during the colonization, because it was considered one of the most important ports of the world; cocoa, coffee  and cotton were exported from here to other places. Around this port grew the population that nowadays we know.

The streets of the colonial zone of Puerto Cabello, still conserve the architectonic beauty of the time. With It's paved streets and the lovely houses, you may feel in a completely diferent century.

Another attraction in Puerto Cabello, is its seafront, where you can see the beautiful Caribbean sea, and the impressive Fortín of San Felipe, also known as the “Liberating Castle”. This fort was used as a shelter in the colonial period, because of the pirates, who tried to attack the city in several occasions.
